Solar eclipse report

I managed to see most of the partial eclipse this morning from Bristol. A window of broken cloud opened up about 15 minutes after the first contact and stayed until pretty much the very end, so I’m happy. It was raining about 10 minutes before the eclipse was about to start, but thankfully that blew over. Above (as well as here and here) are some pictures that I grabbed during the eclipse.

Like the animation. Very cool. I got clouded out in the last quarter of the eclipse. Still, the first half was excellent and I had fun getting some pictures.

    Brilliant Will.
I saw the whole thing just as you filmed it from Devizes.
I was tempted to do an animation but decided to try different lenses instead.
Lets hope we get good weather for the Lunar Eclipse on the 16th August.
    Warm regards,

Stunning work Will. Great clarity in the shot. I wish I was back in Bristol to catch the event, unfortunately I was a little too far west in LA during the eclipse. Oh well.

    Keep up the fantastic work!

    Cheers, Ian
